Biography
Cheney was the son of Mr. D. E. Byam. He was formerly of the Class of 1911, Civil Engineering. He had come to Iowa State College from his hometown of Hubbard, Iowa.
Cheney enlisted August 22, 1918 in Madison Wisconsin with the 10th Observation Battalion. He attended Field Artillery Officer Training School at Camp Zachary Taylor, KY.
He died there of pneumonia following influenza on October 10, 1918.
