Biography
William Allen Rutledge was born on November 12, 1917. He grew up in Sharpsburg, Iowa.
While attending Sharpsburg High School, he played basketball and baseball. At Iowa State College, he participated in the Cadet Officers' Assocation, Veishea and the Inkhorn honor fraternity. He majored in Mathematics and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Science in 1938.
Not much of his military career is known, except that he was killed in action on September 15, 1943 in the "Asiatic Theater." If you have any further information, please contact the Memorial Union.
