Edwin was from Grand Junction, Iowa. He was the son of John Cody and Sarah Lipke - his date of birth is unknown.
Private First Class Edwin M. Cody did farming after attending Iowa State College for two years. He was inducted into the infantry on March 11, 1942 and sent to Camp Wolters, Texas on March 15, 1942.
He went overseas on October 1, 1943, and killed in action in France on October 8, 1944. He was cited a Purple Heart.
