Biography

Private Harold Green McGee was the son of Mr. M.G. McGee. His hometown was Council Bluff, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State in 1916 in the Two-Year Agricultural program.

Harold enlisted April 4, 1917 at Council Bluffs,Iowa and was assigned to Company L, 168th Infantry. He saw foreign service from August, 1917 to the date of his death.

He was at the battles of Champaign, Chateau Thierry, St. Mihiel and the Argonne forest. He was killed by shell exploding in his dugout on October 21, 1918 at Cote Chatellou.
