Private First Class LeRoy Davidson McCall was born to Mr. and Mrs. L. D. McCall. His father was a deputy sheriff. He had one sister and one brother, Major Ennis McCall, who served with the Army Air Corps in Europe. They grew up in Newton, Iowa.
LeRoy entered service in November 1942 and had served overseas for 10 months.
Private First Class LeRoy Davidson McCall was killed in action on April 1, 1945 on Okinawa.
