Biography

Romeo Willis Cox was the son of Mr and Mrs. W. C. Cox of Childress, Texas, who was killed in France belonged to Company H, 358 Infantry 90 Division. He enlisted May 1, 1918, and sailed for France in June. Cox graduated at the A&M College of Texas in 1915 and had just finished his M.S. degree at Iowa State College of Ames, IOwa, when he entered the service of the United States. 

He came to Iowa State College from his hometown of Childress, Texas. Romeo graduated ISU in 1918 and soon after enlisted in the Army at Camp Dodge, Iowa, on April 29.

The Army transferred him to Camp Travis in Texas for training. He sailed to France on July 19, 1918 with the 358th Infantry, Company H.

He was killed in action by machine gun fire on September 12, 1918 at St. Mihiel, France.
