Biography
Corporal William Nixon Moore came to Iowa State College from his hometown Des Moines, Iowa to study Mechanical Engineering. He was part of the class of 1916, but left college.
He enlisted into the Army on December 14, 1917 at Camp Meade in Maryland. On February 21, he was assigned to Company 29, 154th Depot Brigade, which operated from the Remount Depot at Camp Meade. He became the Camp Quartermaster on March 26. Sometime afterward he passed the examination for Officer Training School at Jacksonville, Florida.
He died of pneumonia (possibly flu-related) at Camp Meade in Maryland on October 13, 1918.
